Kayak Foray in New Zealand, New Zealand - South Island, Good as gold 10-01-2009

Christmas and New Year holidays in 2009 were taken up with a delightful trip to NZ. Being a kayaking husband, almost non-kayaking wife trip, a pleasant and social kayaking experience was planned. We had a wow of a time, but barely scratched the surface of what NZ has to offer sea kayakers.

A Little Dream Time, NSW & Vic Coast, 26-12-2007

This report is a brief account of Terry Barry's 620km solo trip south of Sydney around to Cape Conran. Terry faced all conditions but had a great time. He undertook the trip in the Australian Way using a road atlas and mobile phone and sampled the many hamburger shops along our coast. The trip took 19 days over the 2006/07 summer holiday. A great read.

Nadgee Coast, Nadgee Coast, Mild & sunny. NE wind at times 27-12-2006

Arriving at Mallacoota on Boxing Day, we set up camp in the caravan park and made a final weather check at the internet cafe. With a strong SW change forecast for our second day we reconsidered our starting point, so as to (hopefully) ensure passage around Green Cape before the change came in. We decided to start at Bitangabee - if we started from Eden as originally planned there was the possibility of have to spend an extra day in a NP campsite (booked out no doubt) with no permit for that d...more
